EMIS have formed a joint venture company with an indigenous Nigerian company called Greg Continental Agency Limited to take advantages of the opportunities in the oil and petrochemical industries in Nigeria and surrounding countries. The new company was incorporated in October 2004 and is called Electrical Mechanical Instrument Services (Nigeria) Limited and has been set up to establish instrumentation facilities including calibration.

The short term plan is to establish a calibration laboratory and have it running by first quarter 2005.

The company will offer instrumentation validation, metering software and services and will also involve another UK company called Kelton Engineering Limited who has recently gained a UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) certificate for its Auditing and Inspection services. Together, both companies will have a comprehensive offering for oil and gas companies throughout the region.
